Who are we?

PlayMind is the product of Spielworks GmbH. Headquartered in Berlin, Germany, Spielworks GmbH operates one of the largest and most comprehensive Web3 gaming ecosystems in the world.

Our goal is to integrate Web3 and AI technology with video games to make them fairer, more equitable, and more fun.

We approach this on all fronts; as a game developer, publisher and distributor, and as a provider of community tools and services to help trade game assets, swap tokens, and facilitate the conversion of tokens to fiat currencies.

With over 9 million people using our products to date, we’ve demonstrated how we can bridge the gap between Web3 gaming and traditional gaming audiences.

These products form the core of our ecosystem. Together, they create a harmonious Web3 gaming ecosystem — solid foundations from which to build, expand and deploy AI technology.

Milestones

Here are our key company milestones thus far:

  • Late 2018: Development begins on Wombat

  • June 2019: Wombat launches on Android — followed by a Chrome Extension and iOS app — with social media wallet logins

  • February 2020: Wombat crosses 300,000 unique active wallets

  • April 2020: Launch of our first Web3 game “Chain Clash” (decommissioned in 2021)

  • September 2020: Launch of Womplay, the first hybrid Web2/Web3 game distribution platform

  • June 2021: Wombat surpasses 1,000,000 users

  • December 2021: Launch of Wombat Dungeon Master Season 0, which saw more than 150,000 NFTs be staked

  • July 2022: Launch of $WOMBAT on Polkastarter — which sold out in less than 2 hours — and $WOMBAT became listed on KuCoin

  • December 2022: Wombat surpasses 3,000,000 users

  • September 2023: Acquired AtomicHub

  • April 2024: Acquired Chainmonsters

  • May 2024: Spielworks ecosystem surpasses 9,000,000 users

Our next step is to harness the power of AI to offer more immersive, more exciting and more enjoyable gaming experiences. Next-gen games should allow players to both utilize and monetize the data they generate in new, novel ways — and that's our core aim.
